2.2 Flavoring Ingredients: The frozen lime juice shall contain the concentrated juices of clean, sound, mature, high-acid limes, and may contain lime oil or lime essence (derived from limes) and safe and suitable preservatives.

2.3 Flavor and odor: The frozen lime juice shall possess a fine, distinct, and substantially typical lemonade flavor and odor.

2.4 Color: The frozen lime juice shall possess good bright characteristic typical color.

2.4.1 Analytical procedure: one unopened container sample unit shall be submitted from each lot for testing.

2.4.2 Preparation of sample: The sample shall be prepared in accordance with the following Official Methods of Analysis of the AOAC International Method 965.31.

2.4.3 Analytical testing: When specified in the solicitation, contract, or purchase order, analytical analyses shall be made in accordance with the Official Methods of Analysis of the AOAC International as follows:

2.4.4 Test results: The test result for anhydrous citrus acid shall be reported to the nearest 0.1 gram per 100 mL. Any result not conforming to the finished product requirements shall be cause for rejection of the lot.

3. REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS.

3.1 The delivered frozen lime juice shall comply with all applicable Federal, State, and local mandatory requirements and regulations relating to the preparation, packaging, labeling, storage, distribution, and sale of the frozen lime juice in the commercial marketplace. Delivered frozen lime juice shall conform in every respect to the provisions of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act and regulations promulgated thereunder.

4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS.

4.1 Product conformance. The frozen lime juice provided shall meet the salient characteristics of this CID, conform to the producer’s own specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices, and be the same the frozen lime juice offered for sale in the commercial market. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance.
