COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
JUICE, LIME, FROZEN
The U.S. Department of Agriculture has authorized the use of this Commercial item Description.
1. SCOPE.
1.1 This Commercial Item Description (CID) covers frozen lime juice, packed in commercially acceptable containers, suitable for use by Federal State, and local governments and other interested parties.
2. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS.
2.1 Preparation:
2.1.1 Frozen lime juice: The frozen lime juice shall be prepared from fresh, sound, mature, and thoroughly cleansed fruit of one or more varieties of the Species Citrus aurantifolia with or without added sweetening ingredients.
2.1 Finished product: The frozen lime juice shall be practically free from seeds or seed particles, particles of membrane, core, acid content, calculated as anhydrous citric acid, shall be not less than 6.32 grams (0.22 ounces) per 100 mL (3.38 fluid ounces) of lime juice.
