COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
ONIONS, GREEN, FRESH, READY-TO-USE
The U.S. Department of Agriculture has authorized the use of this Commercial Item Description.
1. SCOPE.
1.1 This Commercial Item Description (CID) covers fresh, ready-to-use green onions, packed in commercially acceptable containers, suitable for use by the Federal Government.
2. CLASSIFICATION.
The fresh, ready-to-use green onions shall conform to the following sizes as specified in the solicitation, contract, or purchase order.
Sizes. (Unless otherwise specified)
Size I- Shall (1/4 to 1/2 inch) [0.635 to 1.27 cm] in diameter
Size II- Medium (1/2 to 1 inch) [1.27 to 2.54 cm] in diameter
All of the tops shall be evenly clipped not more than 12 inches (30.48 cm) nor less than 8 inches (20.32 cm).
